Shashi Murthy

Co-Founder & Chief Technology Officer at Nanite

Shashi Murthy is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in biotechnology and academia. As Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer at Nanite since 2022, Shashi has focused on designing non-viral delivery vehicles for gene therapies, collaborating with organizations such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Prior to this role, Shashi founded Flaskworks, which specialized in automated systems for cell manufacturing and was acquired by Northwest Biotherapeutics. Shashi has also served as a Professor of Chemical Engineering at Northeastern University, where a significant research program was established, and has held various leadership roles within the university, including Acting Department Chair and Founding Director of the Sherman Center for Engineering Entrepreneurship Education. With a strong educational background including a PhD from MIT and a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School, Shashi has authored over 80 publications and holds numerous patents.
