Matthew Black is a seasoned professional in assay development and research, currently serving as the Vice President of Assay Development at Nanopath since January 2023. Previously, Matthew held various leadership roles at Lucira Health, including Vice President of Research and Director of Assay Development from September 2016 to December 2022. With earlier experience as a Team Lead and Scientist at a Private Biotech, Matthew has also contributed significantly to academic research, having worked as a researcher at UC Berkeley and completed a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at UC Santa Barbara. Notable achievements include leading the design of a biomaterials lab and developing vaccines combining multiple adjuvants. Matthew holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering with a Biomedical concentration from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
