Tom Powers

Tom Powers has been working in the field of nanoscience instruments for over 15 years. Tom started their career as an applications engineer at Hutchinson Technology, where they gained experience in precision engineering and sales. Tom then moved to Carl Zeiss, where they worked as an IMT application engineer for a year before moving into sales.

In 2002, Tom Powers joined Veeco Instruments as the West Coast MBE Applications Manager. In this role, they were responsible for providing inside sales and technical support to customers west of the Mississippi. Tom remained with Veeco until 2011, when they left to join Gatan Inc. as the account manager for the Central region.

At Gatan, Tom Powers was responsible for sample prep, TEM holders, SEM, and TEM modules. Tom left the company in 2016 to join Carl Zeiss X-ray Microscopy Inc. as an academia EM/XRM specialist. In this role, they were responsible for applications on 10 state mid-west academia accounts. Tom left Carl Zeiss in 2018 to join the SEM Group at Nanoscience Instruments as an account manager.
