Chunming Wang

VP, Materials R&D at Nanosys

Chunming Wang is the Vice President of Materials R&D at Nanosys. Chunming has over 20 years of experience in the field of nanocomposite materials and high performance optical adhesives.

Chunming started their career as a Project Scientist/Group Leader at Union Carbide (now Dow Chemical). In this role, they developed photo-polymers and photo-acid generators (PAGs) that are the foundation of DCE Aprilis’ media technology platform. Chunming also developed PAGs for direct sensitization at 407 nm and compositions for current violet/blue media.

In 2001, they joined DCE Aprilis as a Senior Research Scientist. In this role, they continued to develop media formulations, disc fabrication, and holographic testing. Chunming also led the development of QD-based compositions for on-chip LED applications.

From 2008 to 2013, Chunming Wang worked at QD Vision, Inc. as the Manager of the On-Chip (LED) program and Advanced Materials Development. In this role, they designed and developed hermetic packaging processes for QDs on LED chips and implemented a reliability testing system for QDs on LED chips.

In 2014, Chunming Wang started their own consulting company, Acton Advanced Materials. In this role, they provided consulting and contract research services in the field of nanocomposite materials and high performance optical adhesives.

In their current role as VP of Materials R&D at Nanosys, Chunming Wang is responsible for the research and development of nanomaterials for a variety of applications.

Chunming Wang has a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Science (BS) and Bachelor of Art (BA) in Inorganic Chemistry (Major) and Economic Management (Minor) from Nankai University.

Chunming Wang reports to Jason Hartlove, President & CEO. They work with Martin Devenney - SVP, Manufacturing & COO, Andy Filler - VP, Intellectual property, and Russell Kempt - VP, Worldwide Sales & Marketing.
