Narrative 4 Ireland forms part of Narrative 4 (N4), a global organisation driven by artists, shaped by educators and led by students. Our core methodology, the story exchange, is designed to help students understand that their voices, stories and lives matter, and that they have the power to change, rebuild and revolutionise systems.

The story exchange
The story exchange, the core methodology behind N4's work, highlights our shared humanity. We've led thousands of exchanges around the world, and we can assure you they are always breathtakingly complex and deeply impactful. 
In a story exchange, individuals are paired together and participants share a story that in some way defines them. Afterwards, participants are responsible for telling their partner's story in the first person.  

Post primary schools
Narrative 4 Ireland works closely with post-primary schools to transform the classroom experience by fostering empathy and connection among students. 
Through the story exchange, students are encouraged to share and listen to personal stories, helping to break barriers and build a more inclusive school community. 
Narrative 4 Ireland also provides tailored workshops, teacher training, and ongoing support to integrate this approach into the curriculum, empowering young people to see themselves and their peers with greater compassion. 

Youth Work
Narrative 4 Ireland enriches youth work by embedding storytelling as a transformative practice that empowers young people beyond the classroom.
Narrative 4 Ireland create opportunities for participants to explore identity, build trust, and challenge stereotypes in authentic ways.
 By partnering with youth organisations, Narrative 4 Ireland helps foster environments where young people develop critical life skills such as empathy, communication, and resilience. This process not only strengthens individual growth but also cultivates stronger, more connected communities, enabling youth to become active agents of social change
