Patrick Hennessy

Patrick Hennessy is a wizard at Narrative Science. Patrick has been with the company since March 2016, and in that time, they have served as the Lead Cloud Engineer. In this role, they have been responsible for the maintenance of cloud infrastructure on Amazon Web Services, the maintenance and design of VPC network, and the design and implementation of systems to meet capacity challenges. Patrick has also shepherded software releases from trunk to production, hardened system security, and advocated for secure practices. Additionally, they have conducted internal audits for compliance and built automation tools for Developer, QA and Client Support teams to work more effectively. Patrick has also been responsible for automation for operational reporting and KPI-driven decisions, as well as ownership of build / deploy tooling. Patrick is also the on-call wizard. Prior to their work at Narrative Science, Patrick worked as a Software Engineer at Carfax Inc from May 2014 to February 2015. There, they created tools to help test and implement natural language processing for vehicle history reports, provided support for existing internal tools, and built several web-based internal tools to support team initiatives. Patrick began their career in 2010 as a Data Auditor at Parkway Schools from May to August 2010.

Patrick Hennessy holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a General Studies degree from the University of Central Missouri.
