Brooks Deaton has extensive experience in the field of market research and consumer insights. Brooks started their career as an Assistant Marketing Director at TPC Piper Glen, PGA TOUR, where they worked from September 2003 to November 2004. Brooks then joined Marketing Analysts, Inc. as a Project Manager from October 2004 to June 2008, where they were involved in various research projects related to customer satisfaction, product development, and sales strategy.
In 2008, Deaton joined Aflac as a Market Research Analyst, responsible for serving the marketing research needs of senior management and designing research studies to inform strategic objectives. Brooks worked at Aflac until January 2011.
Deaton then moved to Denny's, where they served in multiple roles. First, they worked as a Manager, Consumer & Brand Insights from October 2010 to July 2014, overseeing consumer insights projects and acting as a liaison between product/brand marketing and consumer insights needs. Brooks was then promoted to Senior Manager, Consumer & Brand Insights, a position they held from May 2013 to July 2014.
Currently, Deaton is employed at NASCAR, where they have held several positions. Brooks initially joined NASCAR as a Director of Consumer Insights in July 2014 and is responsible for market research best practices, research code/standards, and overall methodology/vendor selections. Brooks conducts custom research projects utilizing both qualitative and quantitative techniques. In August 2017, they were promoted to Senior Director, Consumer Insights, and in February 2020, they assumed the role of Managing Director, Research & Insights. Brooks'sresponsibilities in this role include providing research solutions based on internal customer needs and overseeing ad-hoc custom consumer research projects.
Brooks Deaton received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management - Marketing from North Carolina State University, completing their education from 1999 to 2003.
