As Executive Vice President and Chief People Officer, Bryan Smith leads the strategy and execution of attracting, motivating, and rewarding top talent to drive Nasdaq’s competitive advantage and corporate objectives across 30 countries. He drives culture change and challenges the way work gets done to enable the company to execute on its growth strategy effectively.

Bryan oversees the company’s Employee Experience, People Strategy & Partnership, Talent Acquisition, People Operations & Technology, Total Rewards, and Strategic People Initiatives functions. He redefined Nasdaq’s People team strategy to target its focus on three pillars: Business Impact, Culture Impact, and Operational Impact. Bryan is an active member of Nasdaq’s Executive Leadership Team, Diversity Council, ESG Council, Global Risk Committee, Pension Committee, Compliance Council, and serves as Executive Sponsor for Adelante, Nasdaq’s Hispanic employee resource group.

Prior to joining Nasdaq in 2012, he was a founding partner with Meridian Compensation Partners LLC, an independent executive compensation advisory firm. Bryan provided advice to Boards of Directors and senior management teams on the full range of executive and board compensation issues. He also provided HR consulting services to companies undergoing corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, IPOs, spin-offs, joint ventures, and other restructurings.

Bryan was also a Principal at Hewitt Associates LLC (now Aon Hewitt), a global human resources consulting and outsourcing firm, where Bryan held various senior HR outsourcing and consulting roles.
