Joe Barrows

Joe Barrows is the Senior Director of Software Engineering at Natera, where they lead software engineering for production bioinformatics pipelines. Previously, they served as Director of Software Engineering and HIPAA Compliance Officer at Biotia, and managed a team at Sema4 focused on cloud scientific computing pipelines and regulatory submissions. Joe has a B.S. in Chemistry from Georgetown University, an M.S. in Bioinformatics from Johns Hopkins University, and an MBA from NYU Stern School of Business. Additionally, Joe is a Certified HIPAA Privacy and Security Expert (CHPSE) and currently serves on the Industry Advisory Board for the Center for Biotechnology Education at Johns Hopkins University.
