John Batten

John Batten is a seasoned legal professional currently serving as a Senior Lawyer at National Grid since December 2022. Prior to this role, John accumulated extensive experience as a Solicitor at Eversheds Sutherland from February 2017 to December 2022, and previously at Eversheds from September 2000 to December 2022, where John also began as a Trainee Solicitor. Early in John’s career, an environmental focus was developed while working as an Environmental Consultant at OEH Scientific Limited from 1994 to 1998. Academically, John holds a BSc in Geology from The University of Manchester, a Master’s Degree in Environmental Pollution Control from the University of Leeds, as well as several legal qualifications from Birmingham City University, De Montfort University, and Nottingham Law School.
