John McDaniel

Principal Engineer

John McDaniel is a highly experienced Principal Engineer at National Grid, with a career spanning over 17 years. Active in the IEEE Power & Energy Society since 1998, John has held numerous leadership roles, including Chair of the Distribution Reliability Working Group and committee liaison to the Entity Proposal Management Committee. With a strong focus on standards and reliability, John led the Reliability Indices Task Force and chaired various subcommittees. Prior engineering positions include Senior Engineer roles at Detroit Edison and ComEd. John holds a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Michigan Technological University.
