The National Native Title Tribunal (NNTT) is an independent statutory body established under the Native Title Act 1993. It plays a central role in protecting and advancing the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples by overseeing claims, agreements, and disputes about native title. 

After a native title determination, the NNTT supports native title holders and their corporations (PBCs/RNTBCs) by assisting with agreement-making, mediation and dispute resolution, overseeing Indigenous Land Use Agreements (ILUAs); and handling Future Act processes such as mining or land use proposals. 

The NNTT Registrar manages several registers: Register of Native Title Claims; National Native Title Register; and Register of Indigenous Land Use Agreements.
