Tarnya Cooper is a senior museum professional and art historian specializing in British history and artistic practices. Since 2017, they have served as the Curation and Conservation Director at the National Trust. Prior to this role, Tarnya held positions such as Curator of 16th Century Collections at the National Portrait Gallery from 2002 to 2011, and Assistant Curator for Research and Education at UCL from 1991 to 2004. They hold a Master of Arts in 17th Century Netherlandish Art and Architecture from the Courtauld Institute of Art and a PhD in Art History, Criticism, and Conservation from the University of Sussex.
