Melissa Gena

Melissa Gena has extensive experience in product management and held leadership roles in various companies such as NationBuilder, Ellucian, Salesforce.org, TargetX, Oracle, OneUni, Inc., Cengage Learning, Iteration Z, and EdRover Inc. Melissa has effectively defined product strategies, recruited and mentored teams, managed product development, created roadmaps, and improved product messaging while aligning with customer needs. Melissa has also demonstrated skill in managing cross-functional teams, developing market-driven and user-centered product experiences, and executing user research. Additionally, they founded a product management firm that specialized in working with early-stage startups, in which they acted as a consulting producer for user experience design and provided web usability and marketing audit services to digital publishing companies. Furthermore, Melissa served on the Board of Directors for EdRover Inc., where they aligned businesses' goals with schools' fundraising needs by directing donations to participating schools through a mobile application.

Melissa Gena earned their BBA in Marketing and Information Systems in 2010 from Golden Gate University. Melissa then went on to receive their M.A. in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University in 2012. In addition to their formal education, Melissa has obtained several certifications, including R Programming in 2014, Leading Strategic Innovation in Organizations in 2013, and various other courses in algorithms, programming languages, human-computer interaction, and gamification in 2012-2013. Melissa also holds certifications in Servant Leadership and Six Sigma Green Belt, although the institutions and obtained months/years for these are unknown.
