Gregory Silverman

Council Member

Gregory Silverman serves as the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of the West Side Campaign Against Hunger, working to ensure that all New Yorkers have dignified access to healthy food and supportive services. As a co-founder and Board Chair of the Alliance for a Hunger Free New York, Gregory leads efforts for a statewide coalition focused on nutritional security. As the Founder and Director of The Roundtable: Allies For Food Access, Gregory coordinates a network of emergency food providers to increase resources for community members in need. Additional experience includes roles as a Council Member at NationSwell, and Managing Director at Wellness in the Schools, where Gregory facilitated national programmatic expansion and built public-private partnerships. Previous positions also include strategic roles at Share Our Strength, Director of Slow Food Fast, and a Community Food Worker in London. Gregory holds an MSc in Food and Nutrition Policy from City St George’s, University of London, as well as a BA in Politics and Anthropology from Ithaca College and a Culinary Arts certificate from The French Culinary Institute.
