Maka Monture

Maka Monture serves as the Director of Communications for Native Movement since August 2021 and is the Founder and Designer at Moonture Studios since 2020. Prior experience includes roles as Grants and Program Associate at Alaska Conservation Foundation, Program Coordinator for the US Arctic Youth Ambassadors Program at Alaska Geographic, and Indigenous Partnerships | Media Producer for Youth Programs at The Alaska Center. Additional positions span roles with First Alaskans Institute, Sealaska, and Yakutat Tlingit Tribe, focusing on education and environmental initiatives. Maka Monture holds a Master’s Degree in Public Health from the University of Alaska Anchorage and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Applied Indigenous Studies from Northern Arizona University.
