Alex McKay is the Chief Editor of Nature Reviews Biodiversity, a journal focusing on ecology, evolution, and conservation biology that launched in January 2025. With over 8 years of professional editing experience, Alex has previously held positions as Senior Editor for Nature Ecology & Evolution and Nature Communications, and as a Locum Senior Editor for Nature Reviews Earth & Environment. Alex served as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Georgia from 2013 to 2016 and was an NSF Graduate Research Fellow there from 2010 to 2013. Alex holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from The University of Georgia and a Bachelor of Science (BS) from the University of Puget Sound.
