Clare Davis

Clare Davis has over a decade of experience in biogeochemical oceanography, currently serving as a Senior Editor at Nature Portfolio since September 2019, with prior editorial roles at Communications Earth & Environment, Nature Geoscience, and Scientific Reports. Clare's research background includes a Senior Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, where the focus was on experimental biogeochemistry in the subtropical North Atlantic. Earlier experience includes a Postdoctoral Research Associate position at the University of Liverpool, contributing to observational ocean biogeochemistry and topics in marine biogeochemistry as a university lecturer. Clare began a career in data management as a Data Scientist at the British Oceanographic Data Centre, overseeing environmental data from autonomous ocean floats, and gained initial policy research experience as an intern with the Scottish Government. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Biogeochemical Oceanography from the University of Liverpool and an MSc in Applied Marine Sciences from the University of Plymouth.
