Magdalena Skipper

Magdalena Skipper is a distinguished editor and experienced leader in scientific publishing, currently serving as Editor in Chief for both Nature and Nature Communications since 2018 and 2017, respectively. Prior roles include Director of Scientific Communications and Publishing at Altius Institute for Biomedical Sciences and various editorial positions within Springer Nature, including Executive Editor and Senior Editor at Nature. Earlier in their career, Magdalena Skipper held a postdoctoral position at the Imperial Cancer Research Fund, focusing on cell fate determination in vertebrate gut epithelium, following a PhD in Genetics from the University of Cambridge and a BSc Hons in Genetics from the University of Nottingham.
