Markus Ries, MD, PhD, MHSc, MA, FCP, FIBODM, serves as the Head of Research on Crisis Preparedness and Resilience at the Crisis and Disaster Management Unit of University Hospital Heidelberg, where interests encompass Pediatric Neurology, Developmental Neurology, Disaster Medicine, and Rare Diseases. As a Deputy Speaker at the Center for Syndromic Developmental Disorders and Professor extraordinaire at Universität Heidelberg, Ries also holds several prominent academic roles, including Marsilius Kolleg Fellow for the academic year 2023-2024.
