Rachel Won

Rachel Won is an accomplished editor in the field of photonics, currently serving as Chief Editor of Nature Reviews Electrical Engineering and Chief Editor of Nature Photonics at Nature Portfolio since June 2006. In these roles, Rachel leads an editorial team and oversees the development and planning of high-quality content for both print and online platforms. Previous positions include Senior Editor and Associate Editor for Nature Photonics. Prior to joining Nature Portfolio, Rachel was a Medici Fellow at Aston University Business Partnership Unit, where the focus was on enhancing commercial research development. Rachel's technical experience includes a role as an R&D Optics Engineer at Philips Optical Storage in Singapore, where optical systems for CD/DVD players were developed. Rachel holds a PhD in Photonics from Aston University and has degrees in Optical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering from Nanyang Technological University Singapore and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, respectively.
