Rick Titball

Rick Titball is an accomplished academic and researcher in the field of molecular microbiology, currently serving as Emeritus Professor at the University of Exeter since June 2007, where Rick has also held positions as Head of Department and Director of Research in Biosciences. Titball holds the role of Deputy Editor in Chief for NPJ Vaccines at Nature Portfolio since June 2021 and previously acted as Chief Scientific Officer and Director at Entec Nutrition Limited until November 2023. With a substantial history of honorary professorships and visiting professorships at institutions including the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and the University of Glasgow, Titball’s career spans significant roles at Dstl, having progressed from a Higher Scientific Officer to Senior Principal Scientific Officer over two decades. Titball earned a PhD in Medical Microbiology and Bacteriology and a BSc in Biological Sciences from the University of Plymouth.
