Sandro Carniel

Sandro Carniel is a Climate Scientist with over 25 years of experience in oceanography and atmospheric sciences, developed in national and international research organizations. Currently, Sandro serves as the Research Director at the Institute of Polar Sciences, Italian National Research Council in Venice, and is also an Adjunct Faculty Member at SDA Bocconi. Previously, Sandro was the Head of the Research Division at NATO STO-CMRE in Italy from 2019 to 2025. With strengths in a multi-disciplinary approach and a focus on the Ocean-Climate nexus, Sandro is actively engaged in exploring innovative solutions in the field, while contributing to several editorial and scientific committees.
