Writam Banerjee

Writam Banerjee is a Principal Engineer at GlobalFoundries since November 2021, where responsibilities include serving as the overall integrator for the 22FDX+RRAM platform and receiving the Inventor Recognition Award in 2023. Concurrently, Writam is an Editorial Board Member for Nature Portfolio. Previously, Writam held the position of Research Professor at Pohang University of Science and Technology, leading an Intel project focused on next-generation memory, and served as an Assistant Professor at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, where research centered on ultra-high-density three-dimensional memory for neuromorphic engineering. Earlier experiences include a Visiting Scientist role at Forschungszentrum Jülich, with contributions to resistive switching memory devices alongside Intel, and postdoctoral research positions at Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, and Chang Gung University, focusing on RRAM devices and memory fabrication. Writam holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Chang Gung University, along with a Master’s degree in Solid State Physics from Vidyasagar University and a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from Midnapore College.
