Head of Marine Ecosystems at NatureScot

I lead the Marine Ecosystems Activity Team, with a particular focus at the moment on staffing, other resources, organisational design. and marine biodiversity strategies. Other high priority work led by the team includes Highly Protected Marine Areas, and management measures for MPAs and Priority Marine Features.

I am involved in the following internal groups: Nature & Climate Change Managers (Directorate Management Group), Science & Evidence Leadership Programme, Marine Information & Data Management Board, Coastal & Marine Strategic Priorities, and Extended Leadership Team.

And these external groups: Scotland's Seas Data and Assessment Group, Marine Biodiversity Programme Board, Marine Science quarterly catch-ups, Healthy and Biologically Diverse Seas Evidence Group (shared with others), Scottish Biodiversity Strategy Core Group, MarPAMM Steering Group.

I am Deputy Chair of the Scottish Environment Group for marine pollution incidents. We have a team of Duty Officers who provide incident cover 24 hours a day, year round.
