Thomas Govus is an experienced botanist and vegetation ecologist with a career spanning over three decades. Since April 2001, Thomas has worked as an independent contractor for NatureServe Southeast Region, conducting botanical inventories and mapping rare plant species using Arc GIS. Previous roles include significant contributions to the USDA Forest Service, The Nature Conservancy, and various other organizations, where Thomas has conducted ecological surveys, collected data on rare species, and developed conservation strategies. Thomas holds a Master's degree in Biology from Western Carolina University and a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Francis Marion University, demonstrating a strong academic foundation in the field of botany.
