Team Nautilus is a mixed crew of six preparing to row 2,000 nautical miles around Great Britain in the June 2026 GB Row Challenge - one of the world’s toughest ocean rowing races.

But this expedition is about more than endurance, it's a citizen science project.

Our boat will operate as a mobile science platform, collecting real-world environmental data around the British coastline, including microplastics, environmental DNA (eDNA), underwater noise, temperature, and salinity. This data will contribute to long-term monitoring, research, and understanding of the health of Britain’s coastal waters.

We’re combining human-powered exploration with science, education, and public engagement - using sport as a platform for awareness, access to research, and meaningful environmental action.

Our mission is to raise awareness, support research, and inspire communities to care for and protect marine environments - while showing what’s possible when purpose, teamwork, and human effort come together.

We’re building partnerships with researchers, sustainability organisations, brands, community groups, and supporters who believe in action over awareness, collaboration, and long-term impact.

Team Nautilus isn’t just an endurance race - It’s a platform for citizen science, community impact, and ocean protection.
