Prior to entering the private sector as a security and investigative professional, Mark served as the director of the United States Secret Service. While in this role, he led high-impact initiatives in criminal investigations and protective operations; threat assessment and risk management; human capital management; IT modernization; and budget development and execution. Mark also served as a special agent with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Office of Inspector General for Investigations.
Mark has worked with clients on a variety of domestic and international security issues, including cybersecurity; theft of intellectual property; background and misconduct investigations; business due diligence; major event planning; security vulnerability assessments; workplace and school violence prevention; threat and risk management consultation; security training; and executive protection. He also chaired a panel of security experts convened by the U.S. Department of State that was charged with identifying best security practices when operating in high-threat areas.
Mark is a graduate of St. Anselm College, where he also holds an honorary doctorate degree. He is a distinguished graduate of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers, Harvard Kennedy School of Government Executive Leadership Program, and the Office of Personnel Management Senior Executive Service Training Program.
