Is this your life?

“I haven’t seen my child or children in months or years.”
“My child has been lied to and is now rejecting me.”
“I don’t talk about the alienation because people assume it’s justified.”
“I am broken, disheartened and exhausted from the pain.”
“I withdraw from others because they don’t understand alienation.”
“Everything I do seems to make matters worse.”
“I wish someone could tell me how to reconnect with my child/ren.”

I used to say all those things. But here’s what I say today:

“I was there too, alienated from my children for almost ten years.”
“But today, my children and I have a close, loving relationship.”
“We are fully reconnected and have been for over a decade.”
“I worked hard to figure out what works and what doesn’t when reconnecting with alienated children.”
“I want to help you reconnect with your child/ren."

The sad truth is that most alienated parents will not reconnect with their children. The odds are not in their favor. But knowing what to do, what NOT to do, and having the willingness to grow and learn new skills put the odds completely in YOUR FAVOR.

Reconnecting with an alienated child is COMPLETELY counter-intuitive. What we think should work doesn’t. How we parented before can make matters worse. I know because I made all the typical mistakes. Then…I changed my approach and completely turned turned things around.
