The Mission of Navkshitij is to- ‘To establish a Sustainable and a Scalable solution for the Residential Rehabilitation of PwID’.
Navkshitij started as a day care centre in 2003 and later became a residential rehabilitation centre at Marunji (near Hinjewadi Pune) in 2007. By 2016 the Marunji campus blossomed into a self-sufficient and ideal safe haven for PwID. Today, we have 93 PwIDs (above the age of 18) living with us for life. They are kept productively busy in our in- house sheltered workshop.
It has been observed by the parents that as the child grows, she/he develops behavioural issues. The best way to deal with this issue is to make it possible for them to live among their peers at a residential rehabilitation centre. An insightful realisation was that, ‘Among their peer group the challenged do not feel challenged.’ 
They can live a life of respect, dignity and happiness only if they are rehabilitated in residential home with their peers.
