Sofia Taborda

Project Intern

Sofia Taborda is an accomplished individual with diverse experiences spanning public health, education, community service, and mentorship. As a Teen Leader at Mothers for Justice & Equality, Sofia coordinated a community garden project aimed at reducing neighborhood violence through education. Current roles include serving as a Teaching Assistant at O'Bryant School Math/Science, providing academic tutoring, and participating as a member of several organizations focusing on college preparation and professional development, including Bottom Line and Minds Matter Boston. Sofia's commitment to social justice is exemplified through leadership in the National Honor Society and community service initiatives, alongside engagement in cultural exchange programs and internships, including at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and NBCUniversal. Currently attending Columbia University for a Bachelor of Applied Science in Neurobiology and Behavior, Sofia's educational background also includes involvement in advanced mathematics coursework at Wentworth Institute of Technology.
