Maria Svan is currently the Udviklingschef at NCC, a role they began in 2024. Previously, they served as Pædagogisk afdelingsleder at Tove Ditlevsens Skole from 2016 to 2020 and were a teacher and reading consultant at Avedøre Skole between 2000 and 2016. Maria also taught at St. Heddinge Skole in 1999.
