Sofia Olhede is the Chair of Statistical Data Science at the Institute of Mathematics EPFL and has been an Honorary Professor of Statistics at University College London since January 2020, where they also held honorary positions in Computer Science and Mathematics since 2007. Previously, they served as a Senior Lecturer and Lecturer in Statistics at Imperial College London from 2002 to 2006. Their research interests encompass the statistical characterization of Big Data, with applications in neuroscience, ecology, earth sciences, and oceanography, alongside a focus on data governance and algorithm ethics. Sofia holds an MSci and a PhD in Mathematics from Imperial College London.
