Irene Diaz

Irene Diaz is an EEO Manager with the North Carolina Department of Transportation, where they oversee civil rights initiatives. Previously, they served as an EEO Lead Investigator and Personnel Analyst III at the North Carolina Department of Public Safety, supervising multiple investigators and specializing in training and high-profile investigations. Irene also held positions at the NC Department of Labor as a Discrimination Investigator and served as a Fraud Investigator with Buncombe County Government. They are currently an advisor to the Governor's Advisory Council for Hispanic/Latino Affairs on policy and legislative matters. Irene is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration from Western Carolina University and holds an Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice Technology from Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College.
