John Taylor

John Taylor began their work experience in 1983 as the Executive Director of the Somerville Community Corporation, Inc. John was responsible for developing affordable housing and commercial property to create job opportunities. John also advocated for greater economic opportunities for working poor individuals, particularly by challenging banks to reinvest in Somerville. In 1992, Taylor became the President & CEO of the National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC). In this role, they worked for over 20 years to increase access to credit, capital, and basic banking services for the working poor. John collaborated with over 600 community organizations to promote financial inclusion and economic justice. John'sefforts focused on influencing policymakers, regulators, and the financial services sector to consider the needs of lower wealth individuals. John Taylor attended Northeastern University from 1968 to 1973, where they obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in History. John continued their studies at the same institution, graduating with a Juris Doctor degree in Law from Northeastern University in 1976.
