Amy Kim

Amy Kim is an experienced data scientist currently working at Nearmap since December 2023, following a role at Betterview where capabilities in machine learning and computer vision were enhanced. Amy built predictive models for property damage assessment and contributed to the development of Betterview's event response system. Previous experience includes a significant tenure at QBE Insurance, leading projects on earthquake and windstorm risks, alongside roles as a catastrophe modeling analyst and risk specialist. Additional expertise was gained at OnePointFive, focusing on climate risk analysis, and the National Sustainable Development Council, evaluating Australia’s adherence to UN goals. Academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Sydney, a Master's in Risk Management from UNSW, and an exchange program at Korea University.
