In 2021 we are losing early care and education providers at an alarming rate. Childcare centers and early learning programs have closed leaving parents and families without childcare to allow them to rejoin the workforce.

As we continue to strive for quality in early childhood care and education, we have added increasing demands to our caregivers. With these increasing demands, the early childhood industry has not kept up with the needs of each caregiver financially or emotionally leading to impoverished and burnt-out caregivers. Simply put many providers are leaving due to a system that looks past the caregivers and only relies on child outcomes.
Resilience for humans of all ages are built in the context of relationships. In the current system we are short changing our caregivers. Educators in the modern age feel they are there to simply execute tasks and checklist and do not feel connected to a larger community. But what would it be like to empower each of them with a voice?
