Erik Smith

Erik Smith has a diverse work experience in the field of control systems engineering and support services. Erik started their career as a Process Controls Engineer at Uniroyal Chemical, where they gained experience in process design and engineering, waste water treatment, and pilot plant process development trials. Erik also worked on implementation projects for a DeltaV system.

After that, Erik joined NECI and held multiple roles, including Sr. Systems Engineer and Engineering Supervisor, where they provided control systems engineering and support services for large biotech, pharma, and specialty chemical clients. Erik later became a Manager of Lifecycle Solutions, responsible for post-project services and solutions engineering for control systems and AMS Plantweb. Erik managed a team and oversaw services such as remote monitoring, system administration, and infrastructure services.

Recently, Erik has been working as an Associate Director and now as the Director of Lifecycle Solutions at NECI. In their current role, they are responsible for sales and delivery of ICS and IT/OT plant lifecycle services in the New England and New York territory. Erik focuses on building effective teams and coaching for performance excellence.

Overall, Erik has extensive experience in control systems engineering, support services, and project management in the industrial automation industry.

Erik Smith completed their undergraduate education from 1994 to 1999 at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. In 2015, they also participated in the Emerson Service Leadership Institute in Barcelona, Spain, but did not pursue a specific degree or field of study during that time.
