Systems Engineer at NECI

Nathan Mackenzie started their work experience as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Advanced Manufacturing Center, University of Maine in 2015. There, they assisted in data collection and ballistics testing for NASA HIAD research and analyzed woven fabric structures.

In 2018, they interned at Nestlé Waters as a Manufacturing Engineer, where they wrote and managed blowmolding preventative maintenance schedules, assisted with production line modifications and troubleshooting, and implemented production line improvements.

During the same year, they also worked at Lanco Integrated as a Mechanical Assembly Intern, following engineering drawings to manufacture and assemble modules, modifying engineering drawings and components as needed, and assisting Mechanical & Electrical Technicians.

From 2019 to 2021, they served as a Logistics Field Service Engineer at Cognex Corporation, where they were responsible for on-site installation and commissioning of machine vision solutions. Nathan set up and troubleshooted Ethernet/IP and serial network communications and wrote custom scripts to tailor solutions to customer needs.

Currently, they are working as a Systems Engineer at NECI, starting in 2021. No end date is specified for this role.

Nathan Mackenzie attended the University of Maine from 2015 to 2019, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. In 2021, they received certification as an Engineer In Training from the Maine State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers. In 2022, they obtained additional certification as an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services (AWS).
