Asanda W. has a diverse work experience in the banking and chemical industry. Starting in 2010, Asanda worked at Sasol Sasolburg Operations as an Engineer in Training before assuming the role of Process Engineer in various areas. In 2015, Asanda joined Nedbank, where they held positions such as Snr Business Process Engineer, Business Design & Innovation Analyst, and currently serves as Head of Process and Business Integration for Commercial Banking. Their roles at Nedbank began in 2015 and continue to the present.

Asanda W. holds a Master of Management degree in Digital Business from Wits Business School, which is set to be obtained in 2023. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) (Hons) degree in Management of Technology at the University of Pretoria/Universiteit van Pretoria in 2016. Their undergraduate education began with a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Cape Town, completed in 2009. Additionally, Asanda has obtained several certifications, including the Management Accelerator Program, A2E Business Fundamentals, Business Strategy, and Problem Solving from McKinsey & Company.
