Julie Sawaya

Co-Founder and Co-CEO at Needed

Julie Sawaya started their work experience in 2010 as an Investment Analyst at Prudential Capital Group, where they focused on equity and credit investing in middle market companies. Julie also took on additional responsibilities such as organizing analyst training and recruitment for the Chicago office.

In 2012, Sawaya joined TPG Sixth Street Partners as an Associate, where they managed investor relations and other strategic efforts for a publicly-traded company. Julie played a key role in the company's initial public offering and follow-on transactions, as well as coordinating strategic and fundraising efforts across the TSSP platform. Julie also served as the Chief of Staff to the CEO and gave a TED-style talk on TSLX's IPO.

In 2016, Sawaya briefly worked at CircleUp, where they were part of the team responsible for launching CircleUp Credit, a non-dilutive credit financing solution for consumer products companies.

Finally, in 2017, Sawaya co-founded Needed, a company that aims to empower women with nutrition products, education, and community support for optimal nourishment before, during, and after pregnancy. The company focuses on changing the perinatal nutrition paradigm and improving health outcomes for women and their families.

Throughout their career, Sawaya has gained experience in various roles, including Co-Founder and Co-CEO, Corporate Development, and Analyst. Julie'swork has spanned industries such as consumer products, retail healthcare IT, and personal care brands.

Julie Sawaya completed their Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) at Stanford University Graduate School of Business from 2015 to 2017. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics (Honors) and International Studies from Northwestern University, graduating in 2010. Julie'sstudies also included a period at Sciences Po, where they focused on European Union Studies until 2008. Julie's educational journey began at The Meadows School, but no specific degree or field of study was provided for that period.
