Garrett Smith is an accomplished civil engineer with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from Mississippi State University, obtained in 2015. Smith began a career in construction as a carpenter at Brian Smith Construction, contributing to various phases of residential projects from 2006 to 2013. Subsequently, Smith gained experience as a civil engineering intern with the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT), working on technical layouts, material testing, and project documentation from 2013 to 2014. Smith further developed skills as an Environmental Engineer-In-Training at the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) before transitioning to MDOT again, where responsibilities included overseeing contractor operations and assisting in drainage projects from 2016 to 2019. Since May 2019, Smith has been employed by Neel-Schaffer, Inc. as Engineer 1 after serving as an Engineer Intern III, with involvement in field verification and project documentation tasks.
