Negus in Nature (NIN) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit championing a vital mission: empowering Children of the African Diaspora (COTAD), BIPOC communities and their allies to reclaim their connection with nature and become stewards of environmental justice. We recognize that systemic barriers, rooted in historical trauma and racial inequities, have excluded individuals from experiencing the benefits of the outdoors.

NIN breaks down these barriers by creating safe and inclusive nature experiences. From diverse outings to local meetups, we cater to all experience levels. But access is just the start. NIN's work centers on empowering COTAD/BIPOC communities to advocate for themselves. We believe those most affected by environmental injustices must be at the forefront of shaping solutions. Through grassroots advocacy, civic engagement, and experiential learning, we provide communities with the tools to drive policy change for a more equitable environmental future.

NIN's approach is collaborative and community-driven. We partner with COTAD/BIPOC communities, identifying their specific needs and tailoring solutions accordingly. By emphasizing representation and fostering civic engagement, we amplify the voices of marginalized groups in decision-making processes. Our outdoor experiences aren't just about connecting with nature; they're about deepening knowledge and inspiring a sense of ownership that fuels action.

Ultimately, Negus in Nature believes that when COTAD/BIPOC communities lead the fight for environmental justice, we all win.
