Fiona Ko

Fiona is passionate about the intersection of public health and planning, and aims to build equitable, diverse, and accessible communities that improve population health. She has over six years of experience in project management, research, and data analytics. She loves working together with people of all backgrounds, ages, and abilities because communities should be built for everyone, by everyone.

Before joining Nelson\Nygaard, Fiona completed extensive research on how the built environment impacts health outcomes, specifically looking at active transportation, wayfinding and signage, and inclusive urban design. Her previous projects include engaging with underrepresented populations to understand safe and accessible public transit during the COVID-19 pandemic in Vancouver, British Columbia, and recommending transportation demand management strategies to reduce car dependency for the District of Squamish in British Columbia.
