Lauren specializes in multimodal transportation planning and policy, with an emphasis on active transportation, health, and social equity. She has worked alongside engineers and designers bringing concepts to reality. A strong deputy project manager offering a range of strategic planning, policy development, and facilitation skills, Lauren works on projects ranging from complete streetscape concepts to bicycle and pedestrian facility design to community planning projects focused on health and equity.
Before joining Nelson\Nygaard, Lauren was a multimodal transportation planner in Seattle where she collaborated with an interdisciplinary team of civil engineers, landscape architects and planners to plan, design, and implement high-performance infrastructure including complete streets, green stormwater infrastructure, parks and trails. Lauren has been a member of the Seattle Planning Commission since 2014 and co-chair of the Housing and Neighborhoods committee since 2017 where she informs citywide policymaking including housing affordability, modal plan development and implementation and open space planning.
