Michael Riebe

Michael Riebe is currently a PE, or Principal at Nelson\Nygaard. Michael was formerly an Associate Engineer at the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency from March 2011 to June 2014. Michael has a wide range of experience in designing conceptual and construction engineering plans, conducting field surveys and traffic studies, and creating Synchro models and AutoCAD designs for projects. In addition, they are experienced in writing legislation, obtaining inter-agency approvals, representing projects at public hearings, scheduling and overseeing construction crews, and assisting in multi-agency projects.

Some of the notable projects that Michael has worked on include median, channelization and pedestrian refuge islands, Class II Bicycle Facilities, chicanes, bulbouts, roundabouts/traffic circles, traffic calming lane reductions ("road diets"), and other striping improvements. Prior to their work at the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency, Michael worked as a Recent Graduate Analyst at Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc.

Riebe has a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in Civil Engineering from the University of Florida and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Civil Engineering from the same school. Michael is certified as a Professional Engineer (PE) by the Florida Board of Professional Engineers, the Hawaii Board of Professional Engineers, the Washington State Department of Licensing, and the California Board for Professional Engineers.

Michael Riebe reports to Meghan Weir, AICP, Principal, Bay Area Office Leader. They work with Emily Roach - Associate, David Koffman - Principal, and Alex Mercuri - Senior Associate.
