Sam has experienced how different cities make some people’s lives easier and others’ lives harder through their mobility networks. He believes that planning is political, and how a city plans for its transportation communicates its priorities. Sam hopes his work will contribute to planning transportation that prioritizes collaboration, equity, and sustainability. Sam’s multi-disciplinary background has always been centered around the goal of helping people live better lives. Since beginning his journey in planning, Sam has worked with his program’s faculty to develop a more inclusive curriculum; contributed to meaningful community engagement at work; and pushed for creative, sustainable solutions to a council’s new housing strategy.
