Ruby Kakati

Ruby Kakati has extensive work experience in the legal field. Ruby is currently employed as the Head of Legal at Nelsons since June 2023. Previously, they worked at Diageo as the Lead Counsel for EMEA IP & Innovation from March to May 2023, and as the Lead Counsel for Europe IP & Innovation from April 2022 to March 2023. Before that, they served as a Senior Counsel at SUNTORY BEVERAGE & FOOD EUROPE from January 2019 to March 2022. Ruby also worked at Lucozade Ribena Suntory as a Senior IP Counsel from December 2015 to December 2018, and as an IP Counsel from June 2014 to December 2015. Prior to that, they gained experience as a Corporate Counsel at Pentland Brands from May 2010 to May 2014. Ruby started their career as a Trainee Solicitor at Davenport Lyons from September 2007 to September 2009 and then worked as a Locum Lawyer at Fulbright & Jaworski from October 2009 to April 2010. Ruby began their professional journey as a Company Secretarial Assistant and IP Paralegal at Jetix Europe N.V. / The Walt Disney Company from March 2006 to March 2007.

Ruby Kakati has a 2:1 LLB degree in English and French Law from The University of Manchester, which they completed from 2000 to 2004. Ruby also attended Université de Bourgogne from 2002 to 2003, where they pursued a degree in Droit, focusing on Droit prive, de contrat, public et administrative. In 2004 to 2005, they studied at the College of Law - London, but did not complete a degree during that time.
