Brian Sweeney

Lead Process Development Engineer at Nelumbo, Inc

Brian Sweeney has a diverse work experience, starting in 2015 with an internship at Dow-Key Microwave where they designed experiments and implemented new manufacturing processes. In 2016, they worked as a Manufacturing Engineering Intern at Applied Engineering, where they used root-cause analysis to solve production problems and developed process control documentation.

From 2015 to 2017, Brian served as the Corporate Sponsorship Chair at Engineers Without Borders, UCSB, leading a team that raised money through presentations and events. Brian also traveled to Kenya to gather data on water quality and implemented a water education plan.

In 2017, Brian worked as a Process Engineer at Chemetry before joining Nelumbo, Inc in 2018 as a Process Engineer. Brian was later promoted to Lead Process Development Engineer in September 2021.

Brian Sweeney attended UC Santa Barbara from 2013 to 2017. During this time, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Chemical Engineering.
