James Digan

President, Nemours Children's Health Alliance at Nemours

Jim Digan is the Chief Development Officer for Nemours Children’s Health System and is responsible for strategic leadership and guidance of the health system’s fundraising across its five-state footprint. He has more than 25 years of experience in academic and hospital fundraising and will oversee portfolio development, staff management, and leadership engagement for all of Nemours' philanthropic pursuits. He is a member of the Nemours Executive Cabinet and reports to President and Chief Executive Officer R. Lawrence Moss, MD.

Development is an essential component of the Nemours Strategic Plan, to transform the definition of health for children and in securing resources to support Nemours achievements as a leading academic medical center. Jim joins Nemours from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, where he served as president of the Baylor Medical Foundation and senior vice president of Institutional Advancement. He and his team more than doubled gifts and commitments to the foundation. Prior to Baylor, he held major leadership positions in development at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Rochester General Health System, and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Jim has made numerous national contributions to his field through the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy, the Woodmark Group, the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, and others. He is a graduate of Colgate University and has continually contributed his talents to furthering that institution for decades. His career accomplishments also include other academic and development positions, including director of the Zweig Foundation, a private family foundation established to improve society by supporting the environment, education, and health care.
